Diane has been a practising Ophthalmic Surgeon for more than 35 years in both private and public hospital practice with special interests in Cataract Surgery and Medical Education. She served as Head of the Ophthalmology Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Lead Clinic 1, Surgical Ophthalmic Services at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She has a PhD in Medical Education from Monash University ( 2013). For many years she has enjoyed teaching and supervising ophthalmology registrars with anterior eye and cataract surgery in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists ( RANZCO) Ophthalmology training program. She has worked as Clinical Coordinator of three separate Medical School campuses of Monash University and served as Clinical Director International Medical Graduate Assessments at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). She is a Mind Mentor and trained Resilience Coach and has provided mentor training for medical and healthcare practitioners. She has now created a new comprehensive system for Cataract Surgery training.
